Have performed structural analysis for parts of varying geometry using both SolidWorks FEA and Abaqus FEA.

SolidWorks FEA
Used SolidWorks FEA simulation software to find stresses caused by an applied load. Hand calculations are always also a requirement to validate that the simulation is correct.
This specific example is to find the stresses caused by an interference fit between a shaft and a crane wheel.
Abaqus FEA
Used Abaqus FEA simulation software to find stresses caused by an applied load.
This specific example is the final exam for my applied finite element analysis course. No hand calculations accompanied the simulation results because it wasn’t a requirement. Though it is generally good practice to provide hand calculations as validation of results.
